Building Automation can do for your business. |
Building Automation - Control Your Whole
Building from Any Computer
Ever forget about that
important meeting after-hours and have to rush back to turn on the cooling?
Never again. Log on from any computer and make the changes you need. Or install
occupancy sensors to automatically control the climate in your building
whenever someone is there, and shut off unnecessary services when the building
is empty.
Have multiple buildings? You can manage all
buildings easily and efficiently online. Keep control of your energy expenses
by fine tuning building operation to a point not possible before - saving
hundreds, even thousands per month. Set alarm notifications so your HVAC
equipment can tell you it needs maintenance or repair even before it breaks -
lessening down time for critical equipment. Save money and time by having your
HVAC service technicians monitor your equipment and troubleshoot failures
before they arrive on-site. Control lighting, security, fire protection and
other functions as well for fully automated building operation.
Benefits of Building Automation:
With Building Automation, you can control
virtually every function in your entire building, or even multiple buildings,
from any computer!
| 1. |
Expandable Modular Design
- Because Building Automation systems are computer software-based, they can
be programmed to fit your exact needs now and adjusted to fit your business
growth and changes later. |
| 2. |
Maximum Energy
Efficiency - Building Automation Systems are intuitive, set up to
automatically adjust to changing conditions to maximize efficiency. For
example, by maintaining precise control over the amount of fresh air, you can
achieve proper ventilation without overburdening your heating/cooling system.
And when temperature and humidity levels are appropriate, you can use outside
air to cool instead of running equipment. |
| 3. |
Easy to Use
Windows®-Based Program with User-Friendly Graphic Interface - View your
information on easy-to-use Windows®-based programs. Choose between graphic
or spreadsheet-style interfaces. |
| 4. |
Sends Alerts for Service
& Maintenance - The system can be set up to notify staff and/or your
service contractor when HVAC units need maintenance or repair. Your contractor
can begin to address unit problems sometimes before employees or tenants notice
a problem. It shortens response time and unit downtime for faster and more
efficient repair of critical systems. |
| 5. |
Remote Monitoring and
Control - You can check the status of operations and make changes to system
settings from any computer using secure log-ins. Many contractors also offer
continuous monitoring plans which help to see trends in operation that can
signal problems before they cause downtime. |
| 6. |
Automatic On/Off With
Occupancy Sensors - If you want even more accurate control, you can use
occupancy sensors to only use lighting, heating and cooling when you have
occupants who need it. |
| 7. |
Quicker Troubleshooting
Reduces Cost of Service Calls - Shorter service call time because service
contractors can start troubleshooting before they get on-site. |
| 8. |
Central Control of Multiple
Buildings - Because the DDC controllers are linked to each other and to the
internet, you can control everything by computer, either on or off-site. You
quickly and easily reprogram holiday scheduling, shift changes, etc. without
ever leaving your office. |
How Does It Work?
Regular thermostats can receive and process data
such as room temperature and use it to decide how and when to run your HVAC
equipment. Building Automation controllers function in similar fashion, but
collect and process much more data. In addition to space temperatures, Building
Automation Systems typically monitor outside air temperature, inside and
outside humidity, fresh air levels, levels of building occupancy, etc. using a
series of sensors. It then uses software-based programming to function
intuitively, using sensor readings to adjust systems to automatically maximize
the comfort and energy efficiency of your building.
The sensors also transmit data to be recorded for
analysis. The Automation System can generate trend reports which are helpful in
fine-tuning systems for even more energy efficiency.
