New Technology: Measure and Improve your HVAC Efficiency
More than 60% of the HVAC units operating today are NOT running at peak efficiency, even though they maintain cooling temperatures. Inefficient HVAC units run longer and work harder than they have to, costing an additional 5 - 40% in cooling costs (see field study results below).
Advance Air has partnered with NSTAR to provide a cost-effective way to test equipment efficiency and diagnose efficiency-reducing problems. With the Honeywell Service Assistant, the most advanced portable diagnostic tool on the planet, Advance Air can show you how efficiently (or not) your unit is running. If it needs repair, we can show you the dollar value of your energy savings (see sample report below). And we can even apply for rebates through NSTAR for qualifying repairs. ![]() Direct
Digital Controls (DDC) Technology:
Want to adjust every thermostat in your building
from your desktop computer? With new Direct Digital Controls (DDC) technology, you can control virtually every HVAC function in your entire building, or even for multiple sites, right from the comfort of your own desk! The DDC system replaces regular thermostats with
special controllers that are linked together via a network and communicate with
one or more on and/or offsite computers. Regular thermostats receive and
process data (temperature, relative humidity, etc.) from sensors, then use the
data collected to decide how and when to run your HVAC equipment. The DDC
controllers are software-based, and are therefore able to collect and process
much more data than the average thermostat, allowing for more efficient
operation of your HVAC units. Because the DDC controllers are linked to each
other, you can control all of their operations from one or more central
locations, on or off-site. You can reprogram all thermostats right from your
workstation quickly and easily for any holiday scheduling, shift changes, etc.
For more information on the DDC technology visit:

un-biased information source on DDC technology.
In addition to the convenience of central programming, with DDC, you have far more information and far more control of your HVAC units. You can actually see graphical representations of your equipment running in real time. If the unit is not operating as expected, the DDC system will trigger alarms, sometimes even before any noticeable change in room temperature occurs. You can address unit problems before employees or tenants even notice a problem. And your HVAC contractor can view and troubleshoot your system from their office, lessening the cost of a service call. With DDC, You Can Program and
Troubleshoot Equipment from Your Desktop. ![]()
